There’s a mermaid on my ceiling tonight,
Bereft of her beloved sea.
She hides her face in her hands,
Her hair comes down to her knees.
Full of despair, she cries out-
He’s so far away from me tonight,
I’m so far away from love tonight,
The distance- too long to bridge.
The faith has dried up in me,
Flowing into salty seas.
The shadows fade on wall by dawn,
And I wake up... alone again.
