Twinkling Nights

My piece of sky
Where the stars shine down,
Inspiring all-
My time has come.

A belief to power
Through, all the highs and lows,
Burning bright-
My time has come.

The call of heart
Leading to journeys unknown,
With rainbow endings-
My time has come.

No ashes. No dust

Somethings are without meaning
You'll never understand,
The times have gone for changing
You and I once had.

Some things are yet escapable
I gotta understand,
Flickers and shadows may remain
Of that we once had.

I wish I had never met you
Held the warmth of your hand,
We could have had it all
But it slipped through like sand.

Playing with Fire

Shama jalane walon se kya roothna
Unki baatein bhi aag lagati hain,
Par un sholon se door rehna tu
Jo ik phoonk se man me chingari lagate hain.

Floatel

The boat was bobbing softly
On waters uncharted yet
No set course to follow
No shore to be met.

Drifting with the ocean wind
Lazing unaimingly about
And the little boy sat forlorn
Unable to even cry out.

No one to hear him for miles
No one to touch his heart
No one to feel his misery
No one to watch him die.

Hard Truths

The story has to exist
The words immortalised by being written
Somewhere
Does it even matter?

The love has to cease
Emotions to be drained out of the heart
Anyhow
Does it even matter

Reality changes with people
But the facts remain the same
Feeling
Doesnt matter

He and She

The gates open to that soft fragrance,
That sweet smell he remembered as his own,
But she wasnt waiting for him,
The memory was just his, all alone

He looked for the answers,
For the right combinations of words and silence,
But she was long gone,
Scared away from the deep empty spaces

The night calls to him yet,
But he wont give in, nor will she
The trance flows somewhere in the middle,
The distance now, longer than ever.

Ehsaas tera

Us chaand ki ek jhalak ko taras gaye hum,
Aur chandni bhi thi khel rahi luka chhuppi,
Shishon me hi mila ek ambar humein.

Lamhe guzre, fir beete hisab ashkon ke,
Intezar, ki ek pal hi jahan ho naseeb humein,
Par teri ankhon ke aino me roshni kahan.

Duality

The boy told her he wanted her
Under the spring moon,
With the promise made with a soft kiss
The lovers walked to the room.
The girl thought he loved her
For forever and a day,
The promise made with a loving kiss
The soul mates paved their way.

The moon shimmered in the water that night
Lighting the night sky, dimming the stars,
The waves lapped the distant shore
Rearing their heads, submitting by the hour.
The morning came too soon for them
Each waking up to the others’ reality,
He shook her off with the sand on his shirt
She plucked him out and bled love for eternity.

The Death of Expectation

The night swept us away
On a velvet sea of love,
The music fluttered,
Softly about like a moth,
And some magical moments
Were stolen in a kiss,
Until harsh reality
Came knocking along by.

The words swept us away
On a silken bank of trust,
The feelings fluttered
Softly about in the heart,
And some delicious moments
Were stolen in time,
Until harsh reality
Came knocking along by.

And there wasn’t much to go by
There wasn’t much to feel,
But the moth burnt away in the night,
Its wings, unable to heal.

Some random shit

The sitar tugs my heart strings,
The sound like the cry lodged in my throat,
Words spill out the state of mind,
No place to hide.
